Can't wait to see Jack Johnson's 'En Concert' on DVD when it is released this October?  If not check out 'En Concert' on October 10th in Santa Barbara at Arlington Theatre on the big screen.  Click here for the details.  New Noise Santa Barbara is hosting the event.

The moment many Jack Johnson fans have been waiting for this summer will finally come to fruition next Tuesday, that is the preordering anyway.  Of course, I am speaking of the release of 'En Concert' due out October 27th.  Previously I blogged that it was due out in August unfortunately my source was incorrect and I apologize for the error.  This new October release date is from Jack Johnson's official site so it is correct.  Read the press release at surfline.com.  The best part of the press release is that all profits from the sales of 'En Concert' will go charities.  Now I ask you, how can Jack Johnson make money?

Many of you know that Jack Johnson is dedicated to the environment and is committed to sharing the green vibes with all.  Current.com talks of Jack Johnson and of the 1% For The Planet film.  Click here to read about it and see the short film. 

Jack Johnson's Brushfire Records has recently signed a youtube.com break out artist, Zee Avi.  Well, Zee Avi is getting quite a lot of buzz and recently played the Outside Lands Festival.  Read about it at sfgate.com.  To see a short review of the the performance, click here.  I think that we will be hearing more about Zee Avi in the future maybe a spot on Jack Johnson's tour.

I am sure most of you have heard that Jack Johnson will be releasing En Concert a DVD of his European shows on August 25th.  According to the examiner.com En Concert will also be available on CD, Blueray and on LP.  Click here to read.  It amazes me that LPs have made a comeback within the past few years.  The sound of an LP is unmatchable in its uniqueness, but still provides relaxing and calming quality.  Kudos to Jack Johnson for supporting the LP. 

Also, check out jackjohnsonmusic.com for a full track listing.  A track with Eddie Vedder will be something to look forward to next Tuesday!  There is also a video trailer for the DVD at popmatters.com (click here to see video).

In surfing news, "Jessie's Story" recently was featured at the Malibu Film Festival.  It features music by Jack Johnson and some of his music buddies, including G. Love.  Jack Johnson is also in the film, not too sure how much but it sounds like an inspirational story that needs to be watched.  Read about it at prweb.com. There is even a link for the trailer video.

In other Jack Johnson news, Jack donates clothing to an all girl's boarding school.  Read about it here.  According to article the school is in Tanzania and the girls stay at host families.  Jack Johnson is truly a connected citizen of the world.
